I Made Dinner!

Ladies and gentlemen...friends and family...I've finally done it.
I've cooked a full-fledged meal and served it to 6 people.

There I am cooking...and lovin' it. I made chicken masala along with jasmine rice.

Alex and I invited our good ol' film friends to our humble abode.
Two were lagging and I stood at the door anxiously like a puppy.

Eventually we were all seated together.
I was sure we were gonna have leftovers but the pan was clean by the end of the night.
Gavin (who usually eats like a bird) had luckily decided to eat like a human being again.

So it was a great success.
Thank you Mom for the recipe and thank you Alex for being patient with me dabbling in the kitchen.
And thank you friends for coming over and braving my first cooked meal.

I was even toasted!...and here's documentation for my family.

I thought of you all and our big family dinners up on our Humboldt hill.

This is an odd blog, I know, but I had to document it somehow.

It was just such a lovely evening.

What Happens When You're Helpful

When you establish yourself as a helpful and obliging person in the workplace, people use you.
I learned that today.
My supervisor has started lending me out to people. I'm flattered; it means my work is appreciated. But at the same time I must be wary...I'm in close danger of becoming the office b*tch.
And that will mean I'll have a "thing" here. I'm like the temp, Ryan in "The Office": "I don't want to be, like, a 'guy' here. Like, Stanley is the 'crossword puzzle guy' and Angela....has cats. I don't want to have a thing here. You know, I don't want to be the 'something' guy."

I think it's too late for me.
I'm the token youngen. There are other people working here that are my age, but I think I'm the one who talks and interacts with people more. Like just now, the woman that works in the room next to me said "Alex, don't get married."

I told her I wasn't planning on it.

So there's me at the moment.
I'm working and studying.
Don't get me wrong though: I really really really like my job. It's fun, I learn a lot, and the people here are so nice...and if I am to be used by anyone, it's them.

On another note:
WELCOME HOME BRIGHTON AND CAMBRIDGE!
I can't wait to see you guys again!

I can't wait to hear your stories!
Now that you guys are home, I'm starting to reflect on my summer.
To sum up, it's been packed with filmmaking and a new circle of filmmaking friends!

You've seen the edited videos.
Here's a look at what really goes on behind the scenes...

That's DJ dancing. He produces stuff.
Lanlin was the guy bopping his head; he directed the music video Alex and I helped with.

There's a post and brief update.

Heinz- Simply Charming

Heinz is holding a contest for commercial submissions.
Alex and I helped with our friend's submission, and here it is.
Simply charming, I daresay.
