"We're So Un and Bohemian"

un: [uh-n] adj. meaning "unbelievable", part of the slang vocabulary specific to the members of the Guild Musical Theatre Group (GMTG) of the University of Birmingham. The infectiousness of this particular way of speaking, however, has caused it to branch out to other theatre societies in the area.

This particular quote came about when some friends and I were hanging about the guild on one of its surrounding lawns waiting to go in to attend a production of No Exit around mid-May.
We were all sitting in a cluster. Many of the people I hang out with are Theatre/English joint honours (double major) students so they were studying/cramming for one of their exams the next day.
I had just turned in some of the books I used for research and picked up some more to look for potential monologues for auditions.

A couple yards away from us, a rehearsal for Midsummer Night's Dream was going on and a safe distance from that was the Battle Reenactment Society dressed in their best medieval garb wielding swords (not drama/drama circle related).

Stephanie (who is responsible for most of the GMTG slang, in my opinion) is the one I credit the above quote to. She also took some candid photos which were quite nice that I just thought I'd share.

A memorable moment and quote for the books.
